DIY for the SCI: Creating Research Graphics Using Windows-Based Systems and Tools
November 13, 2019 - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Did you know that you don’t have to be a graphic designer to create research graphics that are acceptable for scientific presentations and publications? Better yet, did you know that you can use Microsoft PowerPoint (PP) to do so? Individuals attending this workshop will learn how to use PP to create and export high resolution graphics in addition to how to find a research journal’s graphic requirements for publication. Attendees will also learn how to devise an appealing color scheme and apply it to a graphic and how to modify the dimensions of the image using Paint.
This workshop will be very interactive and requires the use of a laptop running a Windows-based system. Library laptops will be available for use if needed. No prior experience in graphic design or using Windows-based systems and tools is necessary. Scientists and non-scientists are welcome to attend.
