Centennial Campus Bee Apiary: Partnerships for a Sustainable Future
Last spring, a community apiary home to 150,000 honey bees opened on NC State’s Centennial Campus. Founded by an NC State alumna, Bee Downtown installed and maintains the apiary to help rebuild healthy honey bee populations. The bees have produced the most honey of any Bee Downtown apiary and is one of the most frequently visited.
